The fourth of July falls mid week this year. The season’s holiday can be an excellent time to enjoy some needed and well deserved recreation with family and friends, close to home. There are many activities and specialty events associated with “The Day” that one could attend throughout the Country, as well.

If your choice is to extend your boundaries toward events far afield, choose wisely your destination, travel safely, and leave the fire works to the professionals.

But if your preference is to center your rest and relaxation plans around the grill, pool, or deck this year, then make the most of this time. Perhaps affording yourself the opportunity to rest mind, body, and soul is in the plan. That refreshing, relaxing period of time to yourself. Just to soak in the tub, some aromatherapy, or applying a soothing, scented body lotion afterward, and cuddling up in a lush organic cotton bath robe or body wrap and savoring the moment. Mmm, my Spa.

ENJOY!

As you may know, Bamboo is flooding the market place these days. It is being used in flooring, kitchen articles, building materials, and now in the manufacture of luxurious, lush-feeling fabrics for bed, bath linens and robes, as well as wardrobes. Bamboo appears to be the up and coming fabric of the future due to its manifold attributes of appeal. Bamboo fabric has the luster of silk and the feel of cashmere and is perfect for persons with skin sensitivities and/or allergies. Bamboo fabric is strong, long lasting, yet retains its lustrous softness and vibrant color wash after wash. The fiber stays breathable for warm weather comfort and is warmer than similar cotton articles in cooler weather. When used in the manufacture of bath linens or robes, the fabric is surprisingly 60% more absorbent than even Egyptian cotton of similar manufacture. Bamboo is eco-friendly as well; because, as a sustainable resource it uses less energy to produce, and as a result has a very low impact on the world.

With its hypo-allergenic, anti-microbial, anti-static, and mold resistant qualities it might just be the fabric of choice worth a try for softer towels or luscious bath robes when adding to your bath essentials.

The enjoyable weather, Family outings and activities along with all the traditional celebrations, and the sought after vacations the season brings.  Honestly, it is where it’s at.  Yes, we love summer but we’re not naive either. You and I know it doesn’t come without it’s nuances. Hot temperatures, humidity, and the high traffic throughout the house. Our children, their friends, the home improvement projects, and then there are the routine household tasks that Summer holds.

Did you notice how all this activity seems to impact the bathroom and shower area more.  Frequent use of our bathrooms increases the likely hood of our arch enemy, mold and mildew. Keeping this area neat as well as colorful and bright for the summer months can be a daunting task. However, being the creative creatures that we are, and having an edge on the shopping market, we can over come.

Today shower curtains come in a variety of colors, and design, perfect for the stylish changes we wish to create. They’re  made of PEVA, the alternative to the smelly vinyl curtains we once used. To ensure a stab at neatening out the extra laundry accumulation there are always stylish clothes hampers. You gotta love it!

Do you own bath linens that are becoming dingy and wearing out sooner than expected? As we all know this will happen to all of our bath linens eventually over time. But, you say; some are expiring prematurely. This can be attributed to the make up of the bath article, along with proper laundering as a given. For the sake of explanation let us look at cotton bath linens.

The fibers of these products vary greatly. One factor in the manufacture is the length of the cotton fibers used. Combed cotton provides these long fibers that provide greater durability. The heft or weight of the article is another factor. This weight is measured in grams per square meter (GSM). The higher this value the better quality, which is certainly something to consider when purchasing your next set of bath linens. This weight is also proportional to the absorbency of  the bath linens you might be replacing.

Paying a little more for quality and durability is the investment in a longer lasting bath article. Is quality yet available? Yes! Invest in your next choice.
